Inversion tables, gravity boots, and other mechanical devices are used by thousands of people who suffer from back pain as an alternative to drugs and surgery. Recent studies back up what these people are finding with medical evidence. In 2008, a study from Newcastle University in England found that patients who regularly used an inversion table reduced the need for back surgery in more than 70% of back pain patients.

To understand how inversion therapy helps, you need an understanding of your spinal discs. These discs are really shock absorbers that cushion your back and separate vertebrae while allowing for flexibility. When a disc is damaged, compressed, or improperly positioned the vertebrae may put more pressure on nerve roots within the spine. Deterioration and compression of the discs is natural due to the constant pull of gravity on you spine. If you are a bit on the heavy side, then the process may be accelerated. Because gravity is constant, your spine never gets a rest.

Inversion therapy provides opposite pressure from gravity, relieving your discs and allowing them to recover from the constant pressure of gravity. Because inversion allows your discs to separate, pressure on nerves is decreased, discs are allowed to rehydrate,

When your body is inverted, your spine is relieved from pain-causing pressure. In fact, this would be the only time the pressure is relieved. Even laying down maintains pressure on your spine (approximately 25 % pressure when laying down). Inversion reduces 100% of pressure on your discs.

You may decide to try inversion therapy, and there are several different methods to do so. There are devices such as inversion tables, gravity boots, and slings on the market. Most people who are serious about getting the most out of inversion therapy typically invest in an inversion table. Unlike other methods, an inversion table allows for multiple angles which let you get your body used to inversion (especially important for your inner ear). If you are leery of full inversion, studies show that the maximum benefit can be achieved at 60 degrees.

While inversion is extremely safe, there are certain medical conditions that may restrict your use of an inversion table. Most retailers and manufacturers can advise you one when you should consult with your doctor prior to inverting. Because you are in a position where a product defect could cause serious injury, the brand of inversion table is extremely important. When you are hanging fully inverted, basically hanging by your feet, you want an inversion table your can trust. With safety being the number one concern, slings that are available for inversion that lack a mechanical foot restraint are not advised.

There is a wide variation in quality between brands of inversion tables. Many are produced by contract manufacturers in low cost countries that are purchased by importers focused on minimum cost. Others do not have well thought out designs or do not undergo testing to any outside recognized standards. A brand you can trust, Teeter Hangups inversion tables have been manufactured for years and are tested to UL standards. Most consumers would not purchase a toaster without the UL mark, this should be a minimum standard for a product such as an inversion table that is expected to support your weight.

Inversion therapy is viewed by many who have tried it as a life-changing treatment. By reducing the pressure on the spine caused by gravity, regular inversion has been proven by medical studies and thousands of users to have significant health affects, especially concerning relief from back pain.

These child rearing styles have an effect on the child well-being. It can predict what the child might be in the future. As parents or future parents we must comprehend these styles, so if we are going to employ these on our kids, we can get a vision of how are they going to be in the future. Based on the studies; child rearing style can be grouped in to four classification. It is vital that we realize how these child rearing styles can mold our children.

? Authoritarian style. Parents in this style set strict rules to be followed. They are always in control. Their kids have no other options but to follow what they parents dictated them to do. Parents in this style do not explain their actions to their children. They simply tell them ‘Because I said so’. Children are scolded and punished whenever they break the rules. The results of this style on kids are somewhat not desirable. Children, though they perform well on school, have low esteem and poor social skills. They feel they are always walking on the tight rope. One mistake and they will get punish.

? Authoritative style. In these parents are more lenient than the authoritarian style. They give rules to their children to follow but they still let their kids explore. Instead of punishing their kids, their disciplinary methods do not mean for their kids to feel bad about themselves. They carefully explain to they kids the consequences if they do not follow the rule. They let their kids to be assertive and dependable adults. Kids in this style are socially competent and can make choice for them. this is also called “balance parenting”

? Permissive style. This type of style produces parents that are more soft that the democratic style. They are non traditional and often avoids confrontation on their kids. They are very involved in their kids but they do not try to control them. They do not require their kids to follow such rules for fear of rebellion. Parents who follow their child’s every wishes and no desire to contradict their way. Children who grew up with this style are bossy, self-centered and uncooperative. They are also used to get what they want and often results to trouble.

? Uninvolved parenting styles. Parents who use this style focus more on them selves and not on their kids. They don’t seem to care about their children. They separate themselves with their kids and neglect their responsibilities. Their children tend to resort on drugs and experience depression and social withdrawal. They have low esteem and usually are immature. The offspring will also feel bitterness towards their parents.

You might see yourself using one of these child rearing styles. If you do not want the results of such style, there is still an ample time for you to change your ways. One must be careful in choosing you style; it will definitely dictates your kids’ future.

The role of manned security has developed a great deal in the last 10 years with the Government making it harder for criminals to man events which can in turn lead to drug trafficking. It is important when considering which company (such as Bernic UK) that they have the relevant experience and British Standards indicators such as BS 7499: 2008 and BS 7858: 2008.

1. More ROBUST than CCTV

Physical patrols can cover large areas at any time unlike security cameras which are fixed and can break down.

2. Physical appearance & VISIBLE approach

A deterrent is always better than a cure. Having “men on the ground” is both reassuring for law abiding individuals, but it also puts off potential trouble makers.

3. Proactive and can COMMUNICATE directly

Manned security can seek out specific problems and communicate in plain English back to base using a variety of means.

4. SOLVE matters/problems instantly

Having a “human touch” means situations which may be sensitive do not get out of control. Issues can be isolated and moved.

5. Patrolling routes can be QUICKLY established using latest systems (Reslink)

Manned security is also about organization. Having a set patrol route and a given time table means operationally the work is controlled and managed to maximum efficiency.

Conclusion

In conclusion Manned Security offers a flexible and real time approach to venues. It can be scaled up or down depending on the size of the event. The reaction time of individuals is quick and allows for a human interface if there is an issue or emergency situation. Bernic UK endorse both BS 7499: 2008 and BS 7858: 2008 practices and are members of the Security Industry Authority (SIA), Bernic UK can also boast their Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) accreditation in recognition of our high standards, ethical approach and professional values and expertise.

Regardless of the orientation of the treatment program, treatment strategies designed to bring about changes in the lifestyle of the patient are essential. For example, if the patient returns to the same friends and activities that were a part of their lives prior to treatment, relapse is highly probable. The need for long term drug rehab for alcoholic and drug addicted individuals is the most effective way of addressing these life style changes.

The issues of friends, lovers, family members, and acquantices are a focus of an effective long term drug rehab. If a patient has close associations with individuals who abuse drugs and alcohol, some difficult and painful decisions must be made. These topics will be discussed in residential drug rehabs that offer counseling, social skills, and life skills therapy in order to enhance their ability to make new friends. Many alcoholics and drug addicts have used mind altering substances to feel comfortable in social situations or as a common bond between other drug or alcohol abusers. This difficulty of life skills is more prevalent in adolescent drug rehab facilities.

Since most people who are addicted to drugs or alcohol have used these substances to avoid negative emotions or to manage stress and pain, alternative drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers provide methods of dealing with common life problems. These life skill therapies include stress management techniques, relaxation procedures, and assertiveness training. The intent of such therapy, training and counseling is to provide the patient with skills to use in situations or in response to situations where drugs or alcohol use was the only solution.

An effective long term residential facility will develop new goals that help a person obtain positive activities during free time. This is based on the fact that many people who abuse alcohol and drugs start because of boredom, too much free time, and lack of self esteem and confidence. Therefore if a person is taught healthy, productive, and fun drug-free activities, than a person will participate in these positive activities rather than abusing alcohol or drugs. For this reason most long term drug rehabs have weight room facilities, full court basketball, volleyball, swimming, art classes, music classes, yoga, palates, bicycling, softball, pool, and table tennis.

You can easily see why some drug rehabs are more effective than others. These practical but life saving training procedures is only offered in some forms of alcohol and drug treatment centers. A drug rehab program that offers long term treatment, cognitive counseling, life skills therapy, and an intensive aftercare is by far the most effective in ending drug or alcohol addiction.

Cancer is nation’s second most deadly disease, so it’s a good thing that scientists are now looking at ways that food can help to prevent as well as fight cancer. In the decades to come, we’ll probably hear about major breakthroughs in medicine that will allow you to heal your body using nutritious foods instead of toxic drugs.

But what can you do today to help your body stay healthy and avoid cancer?

One way is to eat a lot more nutrient dense foods like fruits and vegetables and especially juices that you choose yourself from organic fruits and vegetables. Avoiding packaged foods in foods that have no nutritional value is key for your overall health and not just to help ward off cancer.

There are many great foods that you can eat that will boost your overall health and help arm your body to fight cancer and perhaps some of the best are foods rich in phytochemicals such as broccoli, brussels sprouts, kale, cauliflower and cabbage. The dark green leafy vegetables like romaine lettuce and spinach are packed with lutine and fiber as well as carotenoids which all contain cancer fighting substances. You want to eat generous amounts of foods that contain the vitamins A, E and C which are antioxidants that help protect you from cancer by fighting free radicals in your body.

Tomatoes have been getting a lot of press lately as a cancer fighting superfood since they are good sources of vitamins A, E and C as well as containing the antioxidant phytochemical lycopene which also helps prevent heart disease. Eating them cooked will help you absorb more of the lycopene and you can enjoy them this way in pasta sauces and by adding slices of tomato your pizza. But that doesn’t mean that you should avoid them raw because raw tomatoes contain important enzymes so you can add these to your sandwiches or use them to make fresh juice.

Watermelon taste great in the summer, but did you know that it’s packed with antioxidants and has about 80% of the daily requirement that you need for vitamin C. It’s also loaded with beta-carotene which your body uses to make vitamin A as well as lycopene. Watermelon taste great and slices, but in the summertime it’s also fun to just throw some of the blender and make a great nutritious smoothie.

If you want to reduce your risk of rectal and colon cancer load up on the cabbage. This cruciferous vegetable is rich in fiber and also contains almost half of the daily requirement of vitamin C that is recommended.

I don’t know if carrots will actually help your eyesight but they have a lot of fiber and are a great source of beta-carotene and contain about three times the daily requirement of vitamin A which can help boost your health and help you fight illness like cancer.

Speaking of fiber, did you know that a mere quarter cup of kidney beans has the same amount of fiber as well as protein is 2 ounces of red meat? And if you love pasta, switching to whole wheat will also give you a good source of fiber plus if you add in some broccoli you get even more fiber as well as a load of vitamin A and C. For dessert throw in some strawberries and blueberries and maybe even a helping of low-fat yogurt for even more cancer fighting goodness.

Strontium – The first Bone BUILDING Supplement!

In the last 5 years, there have been 4 groundbreaking studies showing amazing increases in bone mineral density and reduced fracture risk with Strontium supplementation.1-6 Existing drugs for osteoporosis, including calcium and vitamin D, work by reducing bone resorption, but do not form new bone. These drugs and nutrients can add minerals to the bone, but they do not form new bone tissue. Actually, within weeks of starting bisphosphonate drug treatment such as Fosamax, your bodies formation of new bone actually decreases somewhat. The result of taking Fosamax is your bone becomes more mineralized and less prone to fracture, but certainly not the same as new bone. Strontium is the only treatment known to increase the production of new bone without compromising the quality of your bone. As such it is the only supplement or drug proven to build new, complete bone.

Is Strontium Safe?

Strontium is a common element which is naturally found in your bones. Studies show supplementation with Strontium in it’s various forms is well tolerated and completely safe. Strontium’s extraordinary safety should not be surprising since it lies directly below calcium on the periodic table of elements so calcium, strontium and magnesium are all in the same chemical family. They are all naturally occurring metals which easily form into stable salts like calcium citrate, magnesium citrate and strontium citrate. They also form carbonates, sulfates, lactates and ranelate.

As an alkaline earth element, strontium is similar to calcium in its absorption in the gut, incorporation in bone, and elimination from the body through the kidneys. Strontium is naturally present in trace amounts with around 100 micrograms in every gram of bone, and one Finnish study estimated you eat about 2 mg per day in your diet normally. Strontium use in the largest osteoporosis clinical trials found it most effective at 680 mg per day of elemental Strontium. When you supplement with strontium you are making large doses of this element available for incorporation into your bone.

How Does Strontium Work?

Scientists have discovered Strontium has a unique method of action which provides a dual activity in your bones. Your bone cells are continuously growing and being re-absorbed at the same time; bone growth drugs or calcium plus vitamin D supplements effect only one side of the equation. Strontium inhibits bone resorption while simultaneously stimulating bone growth, an exciting double benefit. No other natural substance or drug is known to provide this dual effect.

Unlike Fosamax and Actonel, which work strictly by decreasing bone resorption, strontium increases bone mass.

Strontium Supplementation

Strontium was studied in both animals and humans from the early 1950s to the early 1960s and was shown to have bone health properties. For example, in 1959, Mayo Clinic discussing a study involving strontium lactate for osteoporosis, reported “the therapeutic value of the drug appears to be established”. However, it promptly fell out of favor, perhaps because atomic bomb testing converted a lot of the natural strontium into a radioactive form called strontium-90. In spite of these encouraging early results, few studies were conducted until many years later.

In 1981, a McGill University study involving 142 patients took strontium carbonate or strontium gluconate in doses ranging from 100 mg to 1.5 grams per day demonstrating a dose – response relationship along with increasing bone mineral density for strontium.

In 1985, a small study pointed to a potential role for strontium in the treatment of humans. This time strontium carbonate was used with similar positive results to the strontium lactate used 30 years earlier. Three men and three women with osteoporosis were each given 600 to 700 mg/day of strontium. Bone biopsies were taken in each patient at the hip bone, before and after six months of treatment with strontium. Biopsy samples showed a 172 % increase in the rate of bone formation after strontium therapy, with no change in bone resorption. The patients receiving strontium remarked that the pains in their bones had diminished and their ability to move around had improved.

Several studies involving strontium chloride have been conducted involving dental applications throughout the 1980’s up to today showing benefits for reducing cavities and teeth sensitivity.

In the 1990’s animal studies involving strontium ranelate were common and from 2001 to 2007 the first human studies involving strontium ranelate have been reporting extraordinary results and safety.

Study Shows Bone Growth

A 2004 study published in the New England Journal of Medicine suggests that it may be at least as good a treatment for osteoporosis as currently available oral drug therapies including Fosamax (alendronate), Actonel, (risedronate), and Evista (raloxifene).

Post-menopausal women normally lose about 1% of their bone per year, but the Strontium studies are showing 3 year bone growth of 8.1 %! These exciting results were published in a large phase three study that followed two other very positive multinational strontium randomized clinical trials. In this most recent study, 1,649 postmenopausal women with osteoporosis who had had at least one vertebral fracture were randomized to receive either strontium ranelate or placebo for three years. Both groups also took calcium and vitamin D with the strontium to achieve these amazing results.

Several forms of strontium are available in the market, but strontium ranelate was used in the study because it was not a common form and hence patentable. Once patents are granted, it is protected so that it makes it worthwhile for a drug company to invest in the above mentioned large clinical studies. Strontium Ranelate has become a new prescription drug called Protelos® which is approved for osteoporosis treatment in Europe and seeking approval in the United States currently. Expect to hear more about this Strontium form in the future.

References

1. McCaslin FE Jr, Janes JM. The effect of strontium lactate in the treatment of osteoporosis.

A well planned employee drug testing policy is an important matter of employee screening and can save the employers several thousand dollars each year. For this reason the employer must realize and understand that a successful employee drug testing program must be convenient and easy-to-use. Internet is the best place to search for the closest collection sites available. There are thousands of organizations that varies from small business to globally successful business that consider pre-employment drug test of the employees are useful while others may consider drug testing, credit checks, reference checks, and other pre-employment checks to be Gestapo tactics. Whatever view people hold for them yet they are legal.

There are several organizations worldwide that provide exceptional service of drug testing. The organization that provides accurate, compliant and timely information to make informed decision and mitigate risks in critical areas such as employment, vendor selection, identity theft prevention and assistance, investment placement, and institutional admissions are considered excellent. While there are some services that adds some more addition to their services like preparing report to reveal the past criminal history, untruthful resumes and falsified employment applications that makes the employer weed out the candidates with such reports and select the best for their company thus keeping their working environment healthy.

The existence of drugs in your system is directly under the influence of drug half-life, intensity, intensity of the usage, method of usage, length of usage, tolerance, fluid intake, body size, body fat, metabolism and the specific range which the drug testing lab uses to signify a “positive” for drug use so it is very difficult to say how long drugs will remain in your system. There is a table that mentions the amount of time a drug can be detected by most standard drug test but you should know that those detection times for instance –

Marijuana (7–30 days), Opiates (1-4 days), Alcohol (6–24 hours) and Steroids (14–30 days) etc, does not mean that the drug is fully expelled from your body within that amount of time but that it has dissipated enough that it can no longer be accurately detected or at least it is not high enough to register a “positive” on a drug test. It is also true that most of the drugs are considered toxin by our body which take time to eliminate, so they are often stored in fat cells rather than allowing excess toxins to potentially affect vital organs thus making them even difficult to release or detoxify from the body.

You should understand the fact that if there is a drug out there then there is a drug test for it but basically there are “Five-Screen” (or “NIDA-5” or “SAMHSA-5”) which is testing for five types of drugs used by most corporate drug testing programs and they are Cannabinoids (Marijuana, Hashish), Cocaine (Cocaine, Crack, Benzoylecognine, Opiates (Heroin, Opium, Codeine, Morphine), Amphetamines (Amphetamines, Methamphetamines, Speed) and Phencyclidine (PCP, Angel Dust). So it is important for the candidate appearing for a pre-employment drug test to make a list of medications you are presently taking or have taken in the last thirty days and even over-the-counter medications so that you are on the safe side.

Dr. Johji Satoh was a studious boy while growing up in Japan, but he took some time to enjoy table tennis. In Japan preparing for college is taken very seriously, and there is little time for play. Table tennis is a good choice for relaxation because you can compress a lot of activity chasing a ball into a short amount of time and smashing a table-tennis ball can be very satisfying after a long period of studying.

When you play table tennis, you quickly learn to adapt your game to the conditions in which you play. If there’s not much room around the table, you have to be prepared to lunge across the table rather than fall back or sideways to gain time to respond to an opponent’s shot.

If the ceiling is low, you have to get to the ball before it caroms crazily off that obstacle. If the table has quirky spots that affect how the ball bounces, you plan your ready position and shots to take those potential bounces into account.

In spite of his hard work, Dr. Satoh did not do very well in school but was accepted at Keio University in Tokyo where he studied economics and management. After college, he worked for a boutique stock brokerage firm in Tokyo where he learned more about a topic that had been introduced during his college studies: the role of financial options and futures to buy and sell at predetermined prices. His work brought him to the United States, and he became fascinated by the lectures he attended with American economic and finance professors.

Taking the option to learn more English, Dr. Satoh studied at the ESL Institute of Tulane University. Once he had improved his language skills, he took an MBA degree from New Hampshire College (now Southern New Hampshire University) Graduate School of Business. For one of his courses he wrote a term paper on a regression model of financial option pricing, which encouraged him to study more about various types of options.

Returning to Japan, Dr. Satoh encountered the great economic depression in that country. Jobs in financial services were hard to find, and he trained to become a management consultant. From this work, Dr. Satoh realized that he needed more knowledge about management and business options to help his clients. By now, he had become fascinated with a new concept, real options, in which the concepts of financial options are transformed into management tools for creating better business results.

The point in table tennis is to be prepared for the ball’s movement as quickly and exactly as possible. As you know, the ball seems to bounce randomly, but the players must move to intercept the direction of a shot based on the shot angle, spin, speed, and where the ball lands while allowing for randomness. In table tennis terms, real options might be considered as helping players anticipate where the ball is coming next: The point for real options is to anticipate future cash flows for business projects to realize better business results. Real options are designed to take out most of the randomness.

In a business context, real options may be thought of as valuable decision-making tools through exacter anticipation of the cash flow of projects with uncertain value changes such as oil exploration and development of new drugs. It is difficult to predict the future cash flows of a drug development project because it has various risks such as efficacy, side effects, rising material prices, and the market movement.

If a rival company takes a lead in developing a similar drug product, the project might be discontinued after much wasted expense. So the management team must watch the project and its market environment carefully, calculating the cash flow from the project at each development stage, which is the stochastic process. In that process, the random movement of cash flow, like the seemingly random ball movement in table tennis, is presumed.

Because of his fascination with real options and his sense that they were poorly developed by most academics and consultants, Dr. Satoh decided he wanted to become a professor of management in a university, write books about real options, and provide consulting services that would add to the practical applications of this concept.

Where could Dr. Satoh gain the opportunity to do such cutting edge work in real options while that subject was barely developed in most universities? Dr. Satoh cast his research net wide and discovered Rushmore University, where he could do his real options work under the supervision of professors who were well-known authorities in finance and business model innovation. The university also offered great flexibility in designing his course of study.

Working on real options at Rushmore, Dr. Satoh developed the mathematics to correct for the assumption of randomness in business conditions that is incorporated into financial options. Why did he do this?

Like the ball movement in table tennis, results in the business world are not always random. He also wrote papers defining major opportunities to operate conventional businesses more successfully by employing business models built around new types of real options that he conceived.

Since graduating with his Ph.D., Dr. Satoh has developed a real option application model applied for a patent that built on his university work to help publicize and increase understanding of how real options can be used to create superior business models. In addition, he founded AlphaPoint Consulting, LLC., an online consulting firm, to provide services in developing business skills and real options based on his Rushmore papers. Through the consulting firm, he also offers a free online business school where people can learn about business methods including real options.

What’s next? Dr. Satoh sees his progress to date as developing his Ph.D. brain so that he can create innovative solutions to difficult business problems with uncertain value changes that have frustrated people for a long time.

Having benefited from developing his thinking, he wants to do more of the same. He continues his studious ways, teaching himself and others to advance this important frontier of business knowledge and practice, creating superior business models by employing real options.

You never know what you can learn to do until you try. Where do you need to stretch your reach to keep an opportunity from passing you by?

Buying from an Mexican Pharmacy is normal no matter if you live in Australia, America, NZ, Japan or any other place in the world any offshore pharmacy on the internet can supply you with medication depending on if they require a prescription or not some Pharmacies will fill your order without the need for a prescription.

Alot of people are now using an Offshore Pharmacy to reduce their costs and to get better access to cheaper Generic drugs that work just as well.

Why would anyone spend years of hard work when you can build the same speed or power up in 1 years that it takes a natural sportman 5 years. No wonder more and more people are turning to chemicals for help. Many products are can be purchased without much problems like from online and offshore pharmacies. An offshore pharmacy or at times called a mexican pharmacy or a canadian pharmacy offer many people the chance to save money of have access to drugs they just cant get but many people from all around the world are now using them to buy medications to help them in sport.

The claim that Nolvadex reduces gains should not be taken too seriously. The belief that it reduces gains seems to stem from the fact that the scientific literature reports a slight reduction in IGF-1 (individuals using anabolic steroids were not studied though) from use of Nolvadex. Thus, Dan Duchaine reported that it reduces IGF-1 and therefore reduces gains. However, if this effect exists at all, it must be very minor, due to the excellent gains that many have made, and from the fact that no one has noticed any such thing from Clomid, which has the same activity profile. Clomid and Nolvadex are both pharmacy medication and you should have a RX for these and can be found for sale at many offshore pharmacy sites.how to find them just goto google and type in Offshore pharmacy.

Tamoxifen citrate is the chemical name of active ingredient in Nolvadex.

Tamoxifen citrate has a molecular weight of 563.62, the pKa’ is 8.85, the equilibrium solubility in water at 37°C is 0.5 mg/mL and in 0.02 N HCl at

37°C, it is 0.2 mg/mL. CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY

NOLVADEX is a nonsteroidal agent that has demonstrated potent antiestrogenic properties in animal test systems. The antiestrogenic effects may be

Tamoxifen inhibits the induction of rat mammary

carcinoma induced by dimethylbenzanthracene (DMBA) and causes the regression of already established DMBA-induced tumors. The decline in plasma concentrations of tamoxifen is biphasic with a terminal elimination halflife

of about 5 to 7 days. The average peak plasma concentration of N-desmethyl tamoxifen is 15 ng/mL (range 10 to 20 ng/mL). Chronic administration

for tamoxifen and 336 ng/mL (range 148-654 ng/mL) for N-desmethyl tamoxifen. The average steady-state plasma concentrations of tamoxifen and

N-desmethyl tamoxifen after administration of 20 mg tamoxifen once daily for 3 months are 122 ng/mL (range 71-183 ng/mL) and 353 ng/mL (range

After initiation of therapy, steady state concentrations for tamoxifen are achieved in about 4 weeks and steady-state

concentrations for N-desmethyl tamoxifen are achieved in about 8 weeks, suggesting a half-life of approximately 14 days for this metabolite. Clinical Studies – Adjuvant Breast Cancer

Overview – The Early Breast Cancer Trialists’ Collaborative Group (EBCTCG) conducted worldwide overviews of systemic adjuvant therapy for early

breast cancer in 1985, 1990, and again in 1995. In 1998, 10-year outcome data were reported for 36,689 women in 55 randomized trials of adjuvant

Twenty-five percent of patients received 1 year or less of trial treatment, 52% received 2 years,

and 23% received about 5 years. no adjuvant therapy and 42% were entered into trials comparing NOLVADEX in combination with chemotherapy vs. the same chemotherapy alone.

Among these patients, 54% had node positive disease and 46% had node negative disease.

Among women with ER positive or unknown breast cancer and positive nodes who received about 5 years of treatment, overall survival at 10 years

was 61.4% for NOLVADEX Offshore pharmacy vs. The recurrence-free rate at 10 years was 59.7% for NOLVADEX vs. control (logrank 2p < 0.00001). Among women with ER positive or unknown breast cancer and negative nodes who received about 5 years of treatment,

overall survival at 10 years was 78.9% for NOLVADEX vs. 73.3% for control (logrank 2p < 0.00001). The recurrence-free rate at 10 years was 79.2%

64.3% for control (logrank 2p < 0.00001).

In women with ER positive or unknown breast cancer receiving 1 year

or less, 2 years or about 5 years of NOLVADEX, the proportional reductions in mortality were 12%, 17%, and 26%, respectively (trend significant at

2p < 0.003). Benefit is less clear for women with ER poor breast cancer in whom the proportional reduction in recurrence was 10% (2p = 0.007) for all durations

taken together, or 9% (2p = 0.02) if contralateral breast cancers are excluded. about 5 years of NOLVADEX on recurrence and mortality were similar regardless of age and concurrent chemotherapy. doses greater than 20 mg per day were more effective.

Node Positive – Individual Studies – Two studies (Hubay and NSABP B-09) demonstrated an improved disease-free survival following radical or

modified radical mastectomy in postmenopausal women or women 50 years of age or older with surgically curable breast cancer with positive axillary

nodes when NOLVADEX was added to adjuvant cytotoxic chemotherapy. In the Hubay study, NOLVADEX was added to “low-dose” CMF (cyclophosphamide,

In the NSABP B-09 study, NOLVADEX was added to melphalan [L-phenylalanine mustard (P)] and fluorouracil

(F).

Effects on the liver: Liver cancer: In the Swedish trial using adjuvant NOLVADEX 40 mg/day for 2-5 years, 3 cases of liver cancer have been reported

in the NOLVADEX-treated group vs. 1 case in the observation group (see PRECAUTIONS – Carcinogenesis). In other clinical trials evaluating NOLVADEX,

no cases of liver cancer have been reported to date.

Effects on the liver: Non-malignant effects: NOLVADEX has been associated with changes in liver enzyme levels, and on rare occasions, a spectrum

of more severe liver abnormalities including fatty liver, cholestasis, hepatitis and hepatic necrosis. A few of these serious cases included fatalities. In

most reported cases the relationship to NOLVADEX is uncertain. NOLVADEX). Serum lipids were not systematically collected.

Other cancers: A number of second primary tumors, occurring at sites other than the endometrium, have been reported following the treatment of

Effects on the Eye: Ocular disturbances, including corneal changes, decrement in color vision perception, retinal vein thrombosis, and retinopathy

have been reported in patients receiving NOLVADEX. An increased incidence of cataracts and the need for cataract surgery have been reported in patients

receiving NOLVADEX.

In the NSABP P-1 trial, an increased risk of borderline significance of developing cataracts among those women without cataracts at baseline

(540-NOLVADEX; 483-placebo; RR=1.13, 95% CI: 1.00-1.28) was observed. risk of having cataract surgery (101-NOLVADEX; 63-placebo; RR=1.62, 95% CI: 1.17-2.25) (See Table 3 in CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY). Among all

women on the trial (with or without cataracts at baseline), NOLVADEX was associated with an increased risk of having cataract surgery (201-NOLVADEX;

129-placebo; RR=1.51, 95% CI: 1.21-1.89). No other conclusions regarding non-cataract

ophthalmic events can be made.

Women should be advised not to become

pregnant while taking NOLVADEX or within 2 months of discontinuing NOLVADEX and should use barrier or nonhormonal contraceptive measures if

sexually active. Tamoxifen does not cause infertility, even in the presence of menstrual irregularity. Effects on reproductive functions are expected

In reproductive studies in rats at dose levels equal to or below the human dose, nonteratogenic developmental

skeletal changes were seen and were found reversible. In addition, in fertility studies in rats and in teratology studies in rabbits using doses

Several pregnant marmosets were dosed with

10 mg/kg/day (about 2-fold the daily maximum recommended human dose on a mg/m2 basis) during organogenesis or in the last half of pregnancy.

No deformations were seen and, although the dose was high enough to terminate pregnancy in some animals, those that did maintain pregnancy

showed no evidence of teratogenic malformations. Offshore Pharmacy

Why use an Offshore Pharmacy and why so many people use them and will always use them?

Easy they are alot cheaper then your local pharmacy and an offshore pharmacy is cheap

No matter who you are and what you need always speak to your doctor and read information on what you are taking this can help you to be safe after all its your body and you need to keep yourself healthy if you need some more information check out this Offshore Pharmacy they are the best around and they have alot of good information on the products they stock and are ranked as a great offshore pharmacy by the 10000’s of people that use a offshore pharmacy every day.

These tips are easy to do and inexpensive to produce.

With all of my events, no matter if they are serious fundraising galas or whimsical birthday parties; I still like to keep an element of style, hip and class to the table décor. Even when I use inexpensive props such as the Halloween items for this Halloween display, I still like to mix and match with more expensive-looking or natural Halloween items too.

There are so many choices when looking at decorations for Halloween. What I like to do is collect Halloween items during the season and then on November 1st, go back to the drug store or party supply store and pick-up whatever is left over and inexpensive. Nothing makes me feel better than garnering bargains on cheap Halloween decorations. I make sure to buy items that I will have a use for and that will store easily in my party planning design box, an item I discuss in Budget Bash – Simply Fabulous Events on a Budget.

To create the whimsical Halloween table decorations for this article I used the following:

Gold organza fabric for a table runner – You can buy any type of fabric and make a table runner, scrunch up unfinished fabric down the center of the table or use pinking sheers and cut a runner for a one- or two-time use (more uses are possible if you are careful with the fabric). For this table, I used a table runner from a previous event and scrunched it down the center of the table.

I picked up the following decorations for Halloween at the end of the season a few years ago and have kept these items in my party planning design box. These cheap Halloween decorations are candy corn twinkle lights, decorative candy dishes, orange votive candles and glass votive candle holders, mini-plastic pumpkin buckets and a witch’s hat. I may have spent a total of $15 for all of these Halloween items and have used them for the past three seasons.

While I was picking up dinner at the market, I grabbed a bunch of sunflowers, rust-colored mums, Halloween candy and mini-pumpkins. A fun idea is to carve the mini-pumpkin’s center and sides (if you have the time) to create votive candle holder. If not, do what I did and just add them to the table as a décor item.

Decorating the table was fast and easy. I just scrunched up the table runner and intertwined the candy corn twinkle lights with the fabric runner. I placed the witch’s hat in the center of the table (I stuffed the center of the hat with a paper bag to make it stand up straight), filled the candy dishes with Halloween candy, placed the votives and pumpkins on the table and then placed the sunflowers loosely on the table. To add a bit of color besides orange and yellow to the table, I pulled out two small blue vases and placed the mums in those.

To create the total look of the Halloween table decorations didn’t take long at all and I coordinated my food shopping along with it. An added bonus to this table decoration is that it will last quite a few days. Just remember to unplug the lights when you are not around the table to prevent any type of electrical hazard from happening and if you have animals who like to leap onto your dining room table, you may want to remove the candy and loose flowers as well when you are not in the room.

I hope you found this Halloween party decoration tip useful.
